Medication Usage
Instructions

1)  Prepare the Pen: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Take the pen out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature (about 30 minutes)1. Check the label to ensure it's the correct medication.

 

2) Attach the Needle: Remove the pen from its packaging. Attach a new needle by pulling off the paper tab, pushing it onto the pen, and turning it until it's secure3. Remove both the outer and inner caps from the needle.

 

3) Prime the Pen: Turn the dose selector to the highest dose, then back to your prescribed dose. Press the dose button to release a drop of Ozempic to ensure the pen is working properly2.

 

4) Select Your Dose: Turn the dose selector to the prescribed dose.

 

5) Choose Injection Site: Clean the injection site (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm) with an alcohol swab and let it dry.

 

6) Inject the Medication: Pinch the skin and insert the needle at a 90-degree angle. Press the dose button to inject the medication and hold for 6 seconds5.

 

7) Dispose of the Needle: Remove the needle and dispose of it safely in a Sharps container. Replace the pen cap4.

 

8) Store the Pen: Store the pen at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
